Engineering Experience
Engineering is both an art and a science. It is a science in that there are defined relationships, rules, formula, laws and principals that govern our design of a facility. It is an art in that we must be creative in our design approach to develop the appropriate balance between cost, schedule, quality, requirements, wants and we must anticipate the changes that will occur over the life of the facility.
In putting project teams together, we often get asked whether it's better to hire a big firm or a small one.
Our answer is always the same; hire experience and when it comes to the design team, hire "Individual Experience". Individual experience can exist in a large firm or in a small one. It is not the exclusive domain by either. Seek it out!
We have managed data center facilities, managed preventative maintenance contractors, solved cooling and power problems. We have worked side by side with the facility engineers, installers, equipment manufacturers and contractors. We know what works and more importantly, we know what does not work!
